Firstly can I take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Happy New Year.
It has been well documented over the last couple of months that we have experienced extreme rainfall here in Portugal. Indeed on New Year’s Day alone we had 70mm of rain within a few hours!
This has obviously impacted our course and the decision was taken to turn the 10th Hole into a Par 3 measuring 135 meters.
This will obviously affect our competitions as they will become non qualifying. The committee has also taken the decision to suspend the current individual Matchplay competition until the 10th Hole is fully reopened.
This is not an ideal situation, however we feel it is the right one to make.
