At last a VICTORY. We completed our league program with 3 matches in November. Our cruel luck continued in the first game away to Penha Longa, a tied match decided on countback (number of holes won) we lost out 9-7. We then had Qta Peru & Penha Longa at home, we won both games well, a 4-1 and a 4.5-0.5 result.
We finished third in the league and we can take a lot of pride in our performances as all our loses were by the minimum margin.
I am happy to think that we are close and can mount a serious challenge for the title next year.
A big thank you to all players who represented the club in the matches, you were a credit to P.D.R.

Joy Mendoza continues to do a wonderful job, every Friday in November and December was sponsored, all entry fees going to the Captain’s charity.

The pro-am is fully booked, we look forward to 3 wonderful days in February and hopefully the weather will be kind.
17 th March, St. Patrick’s day, I am delighted to announce that Bill Ahern has agreed to be Director of Entertainment for this event, Bill an accomplished musician, is putting together a group of musicians to entertain us on the night.
April 22nd St George’s day. My good friend Colin Potter has stepped into the breach and is the tourament director.
May 23rd Swedish day, Rune Lundberg is the co-ordinator for this tourament.
I am quite sure all of the above will do a wonderful job, so no pressure there.
Francisco is working with our golfing partners Vidago Palace with a view to having a away trip.
This will entail a 2 night stay in Vidago with one evening meal, 2 rounds of golf in Vidago and 1 round in Estela in Porto on the third day. All this is planned for mid-week first week of May. Hopefully, we will have all the details before year end.
As I am sure your aware the target this year is 15,000 euro, I am very happy to report that we have just passed the halfway mark, the balance now stands at 7,531. Thank you for all donations both public & private.
